So Good, that a slice of Hong Kong exists here, especially with the occasional Cantonese chatter beside you. Will I Return Again? It is not so much for the quality of food but the industrial location vibes and the fact that there is actually a Char Chan Tang tucked in this corner here which makes it charming. They were both just ok lah, and the tea actually was Honey tea mixed with Yuzu (not pomelo). You also need to find your own table before ordering. For drinks, we went for the Hong Kong milk tea (3.80) and my wife had the Honey & Pomelo Tea (3.80). Rants The location is relatively inaccessible by oubliette transport, and the space can get busy on weekends. My benchmark for Polo Bun in Singapore is the ones from Kai Duck, still one of the best I had so far. This is quite good as the bun is buttery enough with a crispy crust. The har gao has super thin skin (a sign of good dim sum) and the BBQ pork is very flavorful. A few of my favorites are the har gao (shrimp dumpling), baked BBQ pork dumpling, and cured meat sticky rice. I need to stay grounded in Singapore.Īnother must have side dish for me is the Polo Bun with Iced Butter (S$2.30). The menu consists of all the key dim sum dishes. Needless to say, my benchmark is probably too high as I compared it with the truffle scrambled egg toast I had previously in Hong Kong before. ![]() I love my scrambled eggs, hence the Scrambled Egg Thick Toast (S$3.30). The milk tea quite thick, and a very decent version. Macaroni Soup is a very common dish found in the cafes in Hong Kong, and this version is comforting. I had the Macaroni Soup with Ham Set (S$7.50), which also comes with two pan-fried eggs, hot milk tea and bread with butter. French Toast, Macaroni Soup, Hong Kong style noodles – I was reminded of Hong Kong and it was a promising sign. There are different menus at different timings of the day, though some dishes remain available all day. The Food As with the messy ambience typical of Hong Kong cafes, the menu here is very varied. In addition, So Good Bakery is right beside the space of So Good Char Chan Tang. Nothing much to shout in terms of the interior, imagine a canteen-style setting where you order at the cashier and collect your own food once the buzzer rings. The space was bustling on a rainy Sunday morning much to my surprise, given the inclement weather and obscure location. ![]() There is another outlet at TripleOne Somerset. Great coffee, tea or juice are among the tastiest drinks to degust. ![]() At this place, clients can drink delicious wine. Order nicely cooked Egg tarts, fruitcake and flija. You can always enjoy tasty pork buns, soup dumplings and Dim sum - a special offer of HK Cafe. Located in a Sin Ming industrial building, this teahouse cafe brand opened about two years ago and is opened by ex-Imperial Treasure chef. This restaurant specializes in Cantonese and Chinese cuisines. As superficial as it sounds, even the name sounds like a mall in Hong Kong. The Place Hong Kong style cafes in Singapore is usually not my top meal choices, but when The Rantee suggested checking out So Good Char Chan Tang at Midview City, I was intrigued.
